How many ounces of water do you drink every day?

Did you know that every chemical reaction that occurs in the human body requires water, including absorption of the nutrients from our food, removal of wastes, and regulation of body temperature? Our bodies can become dehydrated even before we feel thirsty, which can even make us think we’re hungry! Dehydration can also lead to headaches, low energy, lightheadedness and constipation. So, first thing tomorrow morning, pour yourself a tall glass of H20 before you have anything else. Have water around all the time…in your car, at your desk, in your gym bag, by your bed at night, in a jug in the fridge…anywhere and everywhere. There are some great refillable water bottles on the market now, so fill them up, take them with you and drink up!

Exercise Opportunities

We all know how important regular exercise is to our health. But some days are so crazy; it’s hard to fit it in. On those days, look for little exercise opportunities, like sweeping your front walk, raking some leaves, dancing or marching in place during TV shows. Stretch a little. Do some crunches during commercials. Throw the ball for the dog, walk to the library, park at the far end of the parking lot, vacuum. Wash your car. Meet a friend for a walk instead of a frappachino. Get up and go to a co-worker’s office, instead of calling or e-mailing. Try to accumulate 30 minutes a day of activity, and it will go a long way toward improving your health.
